Edith Stein


Edith Stein was born a Jew, left the faith, and became a philosopher in search of Truth. She found that Truth in the writings of Saint Teresa of Jesus (Avila).  She became a Catholic, then a Discalced Carmelite nun, and died a martyr in Auschwitz. Her feast is celebrated August 9.
